SUMMARY:

The Employment Services Manager is responsible for the oversight and supervision of staff, consumers, billing and programming of the Horticulture and Supportive Employment (SE) departments.  The Employment Services Manager will work in collaboration with the Director of Operations and Compliance in regards to all accreditations, inspections, compliance issues and/or contracts related to Supported Employment programs. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the Employment Services Programs in alignment with their approved program designs.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with all Day Programs to ensure the transition of clients from non-vocational programs to vocational programs.
  • Provide leadership and promote collaboration among staff, volunteers and consumers throughout the employment services programs.
  • Ensure there is a robust work training program which is taught by Job Coaches and Coordinators to ensure all individuals receive the support needed to gain competitive employment opportunities from the non-vocational programs to independent placement.
  • Supervise all SE Coordinators and Job Developer directly and become a mentor these staff to be successful supervisors to their teams.
  • Supervise all staff members directly and complete all applicable supervisory support documents (i.e. 30-60-90 day goals, performance evaluations, counseling reports, etc.).
  • Oversight of client’s safety at all times (i.e. location throughout day, drills, trainings, etc.).
  • Oversight of staff and client’s time sheets through Coordinators for accuracy. 
  • Approve and supervise scheduling of staff vacations and sick days, work with Coordinators to arrange coverage.
  • Oversee Coordinators and Job Developer on client placements and contracts to ensure success of each partnership, this includes proper client and staff coverage to meet the needs of each job, successful placements, job completion and/or other outcomes identified by each partner.
  • Oversee all financial documentation in relation to Supported Employment Programs (i.e. budget, client billing, contracts, etc).
  • Oversee petty cash and small and large purchases as needed.
  • Develop a working relationship with all community partners (i.e. GGRC, DOR, Contracts, etc) and ensure that Coordinators are trained and directed to develop these relationships as their position requires.
  • Be familiar with necessary forms and adhere to program requirements for CARF.
  • Attend Team Meetings.
  • Conduct weekly Vocational meetings, attend department meetings and conduct 1:1 meetings with direct staff.
  • Ensure that all monthly staff drills and inspections are conducted and documented.
  • Inform Executive Director of special problems with staff, clients or program.  Follow through on all team decisions.
  • Be aware of wage standards set by the Department of Labor and see that they are met as it affects clients.  Complete records of all clients' productivity percentages and adjusted wages are kept.  Conduct semi-yearly item studies of clients and submit information to accounting.
  • Ensure that communication is sent to parents, agencies, businesses and thank you letters go out as needed.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and Compliance on all contracts necessary to provide work for the program. This includes:
  • Making bids and follow through.
  • Oversee contract procurement.
  • Determine wage level and conduct time studies for each contract.
  • Submit monthly billing to Kainos office.
  • Follow production system, modify when needed or appropriate.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field or a minimum of three years in human services delivery system and one year in a comparable program experience in the field. 
  • 1 year of Supervisory or management experience necessary. 
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to provide staff training, supervision and planning.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in a decentralized environment.
  • Must be familiar with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (C.A.R.F.) standards and also experienced in training persons with developmental disabilities.

 

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to remain standing or walking on your feet for a minimum of a 4 hour period.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, twist, push and pull repetitively for up to a 4 hour period.
  • Ability to remain seated for a period up to 4 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs repetitively for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally with assistance.

 

  • LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain current American Red Cross CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
  • Be able to pass a physical examination and TB test.
  • Have a clean driving record and criminal record.
  • Be cleared to drive Kainos vehicles.
  • Be able to be forklift certified.
