Title: Director

Reports to: Founder

Status: Full-time, Some Evenings and Weekend, On Call

Job Summary:

The Director is responsible for the watchful oversight of the Child Caring Institute for Gigi’s House, Maximum Room Board Watchful and Oversight group home. The Director is responsible for monitoring the resident’s needs and ensuring that appropriate services are being provided and arrange for in order to meet those needs.  Duties include but are not limited to; the coordination of the facility’s, admission evaluation; the development of the service and room, board and watchful oversight plans; case work services as provided in the resident’s plan; monitoring of the resident’s educational and or vocational needs.  Director will engage in public relation activities to link the program with the community and to raise funds for the program.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for implementing residential program and standards for youth in care to meet the individual needs and goals of the youth in the areas of safety, well-being and permanency.
  • Oversee home-school teacher and ensure each child is on path for graduation. Ensure the we meet the guidelines for accreditation and work with partnering school that will provide oversight.
  • Oversee and ensure that all reporting needed for DFCS and/or DJJ.
  • Oversee the safety and security requirements for residents are met.
  • Review any daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly requirements for DFCS and/or DJJ are met and are in compliance.
  • Oversight for daily operations in the residence, in the absence of HSP/Case Worker.
  • Ensures ongoing program and resident evaluation to include ongoing review of client documentation, medication administration, safety plans, and case notes, review 7- and 30-day Individual Service Plan for the resident with the HSP, to ensure compliance with quality assurance and service standards.
  • Monthly Child Summary Report and submit to DFCS.
  • Responsible for all record keeping and confidentiality procedures.
  • Provides training, supervision, career development opportunities and evaluation of program staff, interns, mentors and volunteers.  Ensures staff orientation, ensure staff members meet requirements for positions for state and funding agencies. 
  • Supervises and supports program audits from outside agencies. 
  • Ensures compliance with requirements of local, state, and federal policies and regulations. Responsible for all incident and special occurrence reports to ORCC.
  • Monitors and assesses resident supervision, safety and security needs and ensures that staffing patterns ensuring are adequate to meet those needs.
  • Responsible for supervision of HSP, House Managers, Interns and Volunteers.
  • Coordinates all staff training and resident development.
  • Assists in the development of grant proposals and program reports as needed.
  • Attends community meetings and events as needed. 
  • Represents in the absence of the Founder as needed.
  • Provide positive role modeling to the staff.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Promote Positive image of the agency at all times.
  • Respond to requests for information from community partners in a timely fashion.
  • Work as a contributing and collaborative team member.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree (M.S) from an accredited college or university in the area of social sciences, psychology, counseling, social work, childhood education or business or public administration or a related field plus two years of experience in the field of childcare.
  • Group home experience
  • Mental health experience (preferable)
  • Must be able to pass a background check, finger printing, and 5-year MVR.
