Job Title: Nonprofit Finance Manager
Client: Berkeley Symphony Orchestra

Scope of Work:
Ongoing accounting and bookkeeping services (10 hours per week; bimonthly office visits)

Responsibilities:
●  Enter and process Accounts Payables (bills, contractors, employee credit cards, union dues/pension), cash balance review – process check runs and Bill.com payments
●  Enter Accounts Receivables (Invoicing as requested, recording earned revenue, donations and pledges)
●  Bank Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet account reconciliation
●  Payroll Services – prepare and enter bi-weekly payrolls for staff; make 403b payments; execute payroll for Union orchestra musicians for up to 10 concerts per year and the Music in the Schools education program
●  Insurance –Workers Comp, General Liability, Director and Officer Policy review of renewal and preparation of annual audits
●  Assist in budget creation in collaboration with program staff and management
●  Assist in Human Resources management and compliance
●  Maintains financial security by following internal controls (database backups, updating and implementing policies)
●  Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions
●  Prepare and coordinate reports in a timely manner as follows:
o Monthly management: Profit and Loss, Variance to Budget, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet o Financials and documentation for external audit firm – Year End close out
o Federal and State annual tax info for Accountant (Form 990)
o 1099’s and annual 1096
o Board of Directors quarterlies
o Grant applications and reports for a $250K portfolio
o Project budget and reconciliation with project managers, ad hoc reports as requested

Skills and Qualifications:
●  3+ years experience with full cycle bookkeeping
●  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
●  Excellent knowledge of Nonprofit Accounting
●  Proficiency with GAAP and FASB compliance
●  Excellent knowledge of QuickBooks Online (working with classes, etc.), Bill.com, ADP
●  Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Drive/Sheets, Dropbox
●  Maintains confidential information, attention to detail, deadline oriented, data entry management, time management, general math skills
