Job Details

The Member and Volunteer Associate is responsible for providing dual department support including the data entry, phone coverage, membership sales and scheduling Fernbank volunteers.
 

Must be available Friday and Saturday, although work week may vary, and occasional evenings may be required. The typical schedule for this position will be between the hours of 9am to 5pm, 20 hours a week. This position is a Membership and Volunteer representative and assists in ensuring the Greeter and Theater Attendant positions are fully staffed. This position assists volunteers when necessary, processes memberships, answers the membership and volunteer phone lines, provides accurate, professional and courteous service to each guest. Non-profit experience preferred; Membership or Volunteer experience preferred; Customer Service experience preferred: Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge or Altru a plus. Pay is $10/hour.

Major Functions

  • Data entry: Inputs new and renewing memberships in Altru constituent database
  • Answers the main membership information phone line
  • Answers general questions about membership prices and benefits
  • Processes new and renewing memberships over the phone
  • Answers questions from the Visitor Services Member’s Express Line
  • Processes online membership sales
  • Provides good customer service to members, guests and volunteers
  • Handles customer concerns and complaints in regard to membership
  • Makes sure all sign holders in the lobby and by the volunteer station are stocked with brochures and rack cards
  • Helps with lobby traffic as needed by handing out member tickets, greeting in lobby, etc.
  • Processes gift memberships and mails gift packets
  • Ensures volunteers are in place at Greeter and Giant Screen Theater stations. If volunteers are not in place by opening, may need to contact other volunteers or fill-in for missing position
  • Answers Volunteer phone line
  • Answers general volunteer questions
  • Makes volunteer assignments or changes in Volunteer Signup
  • Calls volunteers to help fill schedule when needed

Requirements

  • Must be available weekends; Must have flexible availability
  • Database management experience
  • Able to work weekends/holidays
