JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for overall, day-to-day management of ELEVATE Coweta Students formerly Communities In Schools of Coweta County.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising – 60%

Working directly with the Board of Directors and involved community members, the Executive Director (ED) shall lead fundraising efforts to achieve yearly revenue goals. 

Brand Awareness – 30%

As the program transitions from Communities In Schools of Coweta County to “ELEVATE Coweta Students,” the ED shall work directly with the ECS Board of Directors, Coweta County School System, ECS staff, mentors, volunteers, and program manager, to build the new brand and continue to grow the programs established by Communities In Schools of Coweta County for students in the Coweta County School System. 

Program Management – 10%

The ED will work with their direct report, Director of Programs, and ensure both policy and measurable targets within the processes are met.

Job Duties Expanded in Detail

  • Support and engage board members in fundraising and resource development
  • Develop and grow relationships with donors, volunteers and board members
  • Raise funds through grant writing, corporate sponsor procurement, donor development and fundraising events
  • Manage annual Hats and Hooves fundraising event
  • Secure sponsors and support for all fundraising events
  • Manage operating, program and event budgets
  • Coordinate financial bookkeeping, invoicing and banking business with board treasurer and accountant
  • Coordinate health insurance review annually
  • Develop and grow community partnerships
  • Board and volunteer development
  • Board and committee meeting scheduling and oversight
  • Marketing and Public Relations
  • Community Relations Outreach – presentations to civic organizations, businesses, churches and avenues where raising awareness will benefit programs and fundraising efforts
  • Managing and Developing Program Manager/Associate ED
  • Launch new brand awareness
  • Ensure Program Manager is providing and/or Brokering Quality Youth Programming and Services
  • Ensure Program Manager is supervising staff in Data Collection, Evaluation and Reporting
  • Mobilize financial and human resources to support program operations
  • Supervise program manager/associate ED
  • Support program manager/associate ED in supervision of site coordinator staff
  • Negotiate agreements with agencies and community partners in support of the ECS mission
  • Establish and maintain partnership and working relationship with school district leadership, school principals, PLC team, as well as with community and social service agency personnel
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with members of the board of directors, including supporting various planning processes of the board
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans
  • Secure professional development training for staff
  • Ensure coordination of all student and family services
  • Review documentation and data collection provided by program manager and staff to ensure measurable outcomes  
  • Submit all required reports and data to appropriate local partners (CCSS, donors)
  • Develop and maintain a management information/evaluation system
  • Establish and maintain appropriate linkages with media representatives
  • Manage social media messaging
  • Coordinate with vendors as needed (event coordinators, social media contractors, administrative support professionals)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of nonprofit management, business administration, or another related field.  Additionally, CFRE (certified fundraising executive) a plus
  • Preferred five years’ experience in resource development/fundraising/donor management
  • Preferred five years’ experience as ED of nonprofit organization
  • Seasoned, experienced management professional with executive presence
  • Capacity to meet regularly with C-suite professionals
  • Professional fundraiser confident to “ask” for funding and support
  • Experience at building a brand and raising awareness of mission driven work
  • Entrepreneurial experience a plus
  • Event planning and management a must
  • Represents the organization in a most professional manner
  • Human resources experience (hiring, correction action and terminating employees)
  • Well connected in education, social service or business community
  • Excellent organization, financial management, training, coordination, fundraising and leadership skills
  • Sensitivity to needs of youth and diverse ethnic populations
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with education, health and human services, juvenile justice, and other family support services
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, ability to multi-task, possess innovative and creative problem-solving abilities
