Staff Accountant

The Westside Future Fund, Inc. (“WFF”), a not-for-profit organization, was founded by leading Atlanta corporations, the Atlanta mayor, and other local organizations to revitalize the Historic Westside neighborhoods of English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights (also includes “Just Us” and the “Historic Booker T. Washington Neighborhood”) and the Atlanta University Center.  WFF has an overall vision to help develop “A community Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be proud to call home.”

Position Description:  The staff accountant will provide direct support to the Accounting Manager to support the day-to-day accounting operations for the not-for-profit.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding of all invoices
• Process cash receipts and deposits
• Maintain the W9, COI and invoice files, Process Year-end 1099s
• Assist with budgets to include entry and maintenance
• Responsible for record retention including contracts and legal files
• Assist with the annual audit by preparing audit schedules as requested
• Process tenant billing and receivables

Qualifications and Skills:

• Solid understanding of the accounts payable process
• Functional understanding of a chart of accounts, general ledger and job costing
• Knowledge of internal accounting controls
• Detailed oriented, organized and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and self-directed
• Impeccable ethics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other relevant department software. MRI experience preferred
• Compassion for people and desire to build inclusive community

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
• 2-3 years of accounting experience Required
