Job Details

Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA) is a membership organization of owners and managers of affordable, multifamily housing in the Southeast, actively involved in many different housing programs. 

OUR MISSION is to Inform, Educate, and Connect the SAHMA community of affordable housing professionals.

Duties - Oversee and manage the following:

  • Accept all incoming calls and answer or direct calls to the appropriate team member
  • Customer Service
  • Database Management
  • Incoming/Outgoing mail and shipping
  • Membership/Member programs and services
  • Provide logistical support and assist in preparation of materials for meetings and events
  • General office supply and inventory

Daily

Answer phones and provide customer service in the form of answering questions, assisting customers with website log-in and/or how to navigate event registration or other website functions.  Direct specific calls to the appropriate team member for assistance.  Open mail, log and distribute as required.  Maintain Stamps.com account as well as UPS online shipments.  As part of database management provide member account updates and maintenance, generate reports and review data for errors and omissions.

Membership

Process new membership requests and welcome packets.  Accurately maintain membership database.  Follow up on prospective member leads.

Events

Serve as support for all assignments in support of state conferences, annual conference, educational events (live and online) and board or partnership meetings.

Programs

Manage several member programs to include application processing, follow up, database management.  Prepare appropriate information and materials for communication/marketing regarding member programs and work collaboratively to create marketing materials for distribution.

General Office

Maintaining the success of office efficiency by working with vendors and suppliers.  Other duties or special projects as needed and assigned.

Qualifications:
This opportunity is best suited for an efficient, independent, flexible and energetic individual.  The ideal candidate must have:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications and high level of proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer services experience
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent professional communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Strong willingness to be a team player – to roll up yours sleeves and get the job done.
  • Experience with an AMS a plus
  • Experience in the non-profit sector a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
