Manager, Donor Relations & Stewardship

Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing advancement activities in stewardship and donor relations that help illustrate to donors the impact of their giving. This position writes and/or reviews donor reports and newsletters, researches and develops prospect bios, and develops annual endowment summaries for donors. In addition, the Manager, Donor Relations & Stewardship supports frontline fundraising staff in the areas of stewardship, including reporting and events.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Design and write stewardship reports for donors to scholarships, endowed funds, and other funds

• Coordinate the request, collection, and review of scholarship recipient thank you letters, notes, videos, or other stewardship items.

• Write copy for a variety of communications, both print and electronic, including e-newsletters and event invitations

• Plan strategic stewardship events for donors

• Research and develop prospect bios for event briefings

• Manage Loyalty Giving Society

 

Required Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• 2-5 years of experience working in advancement, with an understanding of the elements of the successful stewardship of donors

• Strong writing skills

• Experience with planning and executing events

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and donor databases

• Comfort with technology and social media

• Willingness to stay abreast of trends in the field
