Position Description

We are searching for an experienced manager to serve as the Development Office Manager for the Georgia Alliance for Progress. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The Development Office Manager will play a critical role by managing the administration of a dynamic, growing statewide organization and developing and managing systems to meet our fundraising goals and enhance our growth. 

Successful candidates will be highly organized, outgoing and prepared to manage key organizational systems including, CRM management, internal communications as well as supporting the senior staff  with Board coordination and fundraising.

Primary Responsibilities:

Office management

  • Manage the maintenance and administration of a work environment that attracts and motivates a top-quality, diverse staff.
  • Manage data entry, accuracy and updates of Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) database system.
  • Support coordination of staff planning, weekly senior staff meeting and annual meeting, as well as manage reports on status/progress towards strategic programmatic goals. 
  • Act as a direct operations support to Senior Staff, handling calendaring, event and meeting planning, expense reporting. 
  • Play a critical role in tackling operations, communications, and logistics for the organization.
  • Manage supplies and equipment.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and records.
  • Provide general office management and administrative support.

Fundraising and Donor Development

  • Support senior staff and board in the day-to-day work of the organization’s fundraising strategies and plan, including all efforts to identify, recruit, support, and maintain organization’s donors.
  • Design communication tools to engage supporters in events and updates.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and follow-up of fundraising events and meetings.
  • Oversee fundraising processes, including donation reconciliation, acknowledgements, tracking, and deposits.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrated commitment to progressive values. 

  • 3 + years of office management or administrative assistant experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems. 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Strong people skills, and ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. 
  • Strong online research skills. 
  • Experience planning and managing events.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills. 

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage several projects at once. 

  • Experience in a non-profit environment a plus.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently. 

  • Assertiveness and tact in handling confidential and sensitive issues and documents. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Strong work ethic. 

  • Sense of humor.


Reports to:   Deputy Director

Based in:     Atlanta, Georgia

Start date:   As soon as possible

Travel:        Some travel may be required

Salary:       Range from $47,000 to $60,000; Commensurate with experience.
