The individual in this role will report to the executive director and is expected to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Oversee fundraising efforts associated with annual donor recognition clubs, including Octavia Andrew Rush Young Alumnae Giving Society, Anniversary Club, Blue & White Club, Diamond Club, Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald Club, and Wesleyan Society
- Promote & solicit undergraduate members for 1851 Violet Circle membership
- Seek chapter support for annual contributions for three key funds
- Coordinate all aspects of the Foundation’s emergency grant and scholarship program, including but not limited to:
- Oversight of the application process
- Communication and distribution of applications with volunteer committees
- Stewardship for donors to all scholarship and grant programs
- Work with the Foundation team to develop relationships with prospects and donors
- Engage with alumnae, undergraduate members, parents, friends and other constituencies as it relates to matters of the Foundation
- Organize and prioritize information and communications
- Attendance at events, as needed (including occasional nights and weekends)
- Provide clerical and administrative support as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Related experience may include a combination of fundraising experience, volunteer board management, external sales, external/community affairs, business development, marketing or experience that involves reaching out to external broad-based constituencies to engage more closely with the organization or company that you represent. Membership in a Greek sorority or fraternity a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree, with 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to cultivate/solicit gift prospects
- Proficient knowledge of databases
- Ability to exercise judgment, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Proficiency with office technologies (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc); iMIS, Crystal Reports, SQL preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and within a team-based environment
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and demanding timelines
- Strong communication skills (written, oral and interpersonal)
- Willing to travel to out-of-town events, as needed
