Works in collaboration with members of the Division of University Advancement to develop and manage alumni engagement programs focused on increasing the depth and diversity of alumni relations. Responsible for recruiting and managing local, regional and national alumni volunteer leadership in targeted geographic, academic and affinity group programs. Increases alumni involvement and participation in the life of the University through outreach efforts, events and volunteering.

  • Coordinates development, implementation and execution of a new and student alumni program
  • Develops strategies to increase student and alumni involvement with alumni programs and events
  • Manages collaborative relationships with campus departments and student organizations to identify, promote and execute new and existing programs
  • Attends and assists with campus and alumni events
  • Partners with Annual Giving Office to support, identify and cultivate senior class and young alumni giving Develops, implements and executes a volunteer training program for student, young and general alumni, including processes for volunteer identification, stewardship and succession planning
  • Collaborates with campus partners to create, provide and support volunteer engagement opportunities
  • Serves as Alumni Staff liaison for KSU Affinity Groups, providing support for meetings, events and volunteer leadership and assists in establishing new affinity groups
  • Represents and attends assigned committee meetings, events, programs and is visible to alumni, donors, students, faculty, staff and families
  • Creates communication content for programs, including print, web, email, social media and promotional items, in accordance with branding guidelines Assists with the strategy and marketing of department events including collaborating with schools, units and/or campus offices Creates marketing and communication collateral for events and as needed for other activities Serve as staff coordinator and platform administrator for Owl Mentor Network, the virtual mentoring platform for alumni to alumni and alumni to students

  • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, computer literacy and follow up skills
  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Three (3) years of work experience in alumni relations and/or engagement in an educational setting

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW OR INSTITUTION:

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia drivers license
  • Experience in Raisers Edge preferred
  • Experience in fundraising and development preferred
