Job Details

Eastside College Preparatory School is an independent high school serving first-generation college bound students. In a community in which the high school dropout rate is 60%, Eastside students are trailblazing a new tradition of academic success; to date 100% of our graduates have been accepted to a four-year college or university. In addition to our year-round high school program, our alumni program supports young alumni through college and into careers. As a result Eastside students are paving the way for a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their community.

As Eastside receives neither the government funding that public and charter schools rely on or the tuition and family contributions that sustain traditional independent schools, all students attend on full scholarship. Our communications program is thus a critical component of our effort to raise our budget each year, as it highlights the impact every contribution makes.

ABOUT THE POSITION

You will lead the effort to shape and tell Eastside’s story through a variety of channels, including grant proposals and reports, annual appeals,  newsletters, and videos. As a member of the Development team, you will also contribute to other projects and special events designed to share the story and generate support for Eastside. This position reports to the Director of Development.

  • Manage school website and social media presence
  • Research and identify new grant and funding opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years experience in communications, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team, prioritize multiple tasks, and problem-solve.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; Adobe Premier Pro, Indesign and Photoshop; Dreamweaver and basic HTML
