Position: Volunteer Coordinator
Supervisor: Vice President of Operations
Position Description:
This professional is responsible for developing and/or assisting in developing resources for PADV (volunteers, financial and in-kind) and assisting the Vice President of Operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Strong management skills.
- Experience in teaching and/or training groups.
- Ability to work indepentedly and with little direct supervision.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Experience in volunteer placement.
- Good organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Able to recognize an individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruitment, selection, orientation and supervisions and day to day management of volunteers for all programs
- Maintains daily volunteer schedule and arranges for placement of volunteers throughout the agency and communicates those schedules in a timely manner to shelter staff.
- Creates and updates volunteer training manual, and other outreach materials.
- Works with Development Associate to maintain volunteer database in Raiser’s Edge.
- Maintains and creates monthly statistical reports covering volunteer hours and volunteer tasks.
- Utilizing funding partner guidelines, implement dynamic, engaging volunteer training process.
- Using funding partner guidelines develop and execute on-boarding process which includes: training follow-up, background check completion, and certification process.
- Implements annual volunteer recognition event and ongoing retention programs.
- Organizes large group and corporate volunteer projects and communicates those projects to the VP of Operations.
- Provides ongoing training to shelter staff in appropriate volunteer management and supervision skills. Training should be documented in Apricot and employee files.
- Develops annual work plan with goals, objectives and timelines that reflect the agency’s strategic plan.
- Develops and manages agency in-kind giving program to reduce expense associated with shelter operations.
- Be available evenings and weekends to oversee volunteer training and volunteer events.
