The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for increasing gift revenue from individuals living primarily, but not exclusively, in the Metro Atlanta area.  This position strives to build relationships with new donors and steward and renew relationships with existing donors to Jerusalem House, increasing membership in our giving society.

Along with our Institutional Giving Manager, the Individual Giving Manager is also responsible for increasing gift revenue from private (businesses, corporations, foundations, community groups, and faith-based) grantors through writing and submitting grant applications.  Other IGM duties include writing and producing the Annual Appeal, the Annual Report, and email newsletters.

A dynamic and passionate spokesperson for Jerusalem House to the community, the Individual Giving Manager inspires support through the major giving society, annual giving, tribute gifts, and employee giving, and creates a mutually beneficial relationship between donors and Jerusalem House.  As a member of the Development Department, the Individual Giving Manager helps plan and execute fundraising events and collaborates with colleagues to accomplish the overall fundraising goals for the agency.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to perform general office duties such as typing, using office equipment, and moderate lifting (up to 30 pounds). Work is performed in office, at residential facilities, outdoors, at events, and in community settings.  Position requires own reliable transportation for vendor meetings, visits to donors/investors, volunteer activities, outreach, and events. Work likely includes evening and weekends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with own vehicle in good working order
  • Flexible hours are required including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • A minimum of four years of fundraising experience
  • Proven experience building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with donors
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel required
  • Database experience (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Abila FR50) a plus

Demonstrated ability to

  • Clearly communicate agency history, plans, policies and procedures, orally and in writing
  • Stimulate the interest and enlist the cooperation of others

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully:

  • With all levels of the Jerusalem House organization: Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, investors, and residents

Working knowledge of:

  • HIV/AIDS and related issues as they correlate to investment by donors
