Community Learning Center (CLC) seeks nominations and applications for the position of Executive Director.  CLC is a top performing nonprofit adult literacy organization that serves low-income adults in Philadelphia.  CLC provides free classes and support to low-income adults seeking to change their lives through literacy.  Programs and services are offered in two community based centers one located in North Philadelphia and the other in West Philadelphia.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to all aspects of CLC.  The Executive Director is responsible for securing and overseeing state and federal grants and other resources.  The Executive Director oversees a staff of 4 direct reports and 19 other staff, and is responsible for fiscal oversight of CLC’s $1.4M resources.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.  The Executive Director must be passionate about the mission of CLC.  Management experience and demonstrated ability to foster effective collaborations among wide-ranging constituents is required.  The Executive Director must be an effective leader and communicator.
