Position Description:

This position reports to the Controller. The Accounting Manager is accountable for the day to day accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. 

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Follows GAAP and ensures compliance with internal controls and other CHRIS 180 Accounting Procedures
  • Supervise accounting staff and oversee day to day accounting activities.
  • Review and approve AP, AR and cash receipt entries
  • Review monthly recurring journal entries
  • Record payroll entries
  • Responsibility for maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Complete and or review monthly reconciliations and general review of general ledger accounts, including credit card , bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA) rent assistance (PBRA) Reports
  • Issue timely and complete internal monthly financial statements
  • Maintain budget trackers and complete draw requests for Federal grants
  • Compliance reporting for grants and contracts
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed files, documentation, and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with CHRIS 180 policy and compliance standards
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and supervision as required and in accordance with CHRIS 180 policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to CHRIS 180 Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and GA Code
  • Maintain consumers’ confidentiality
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for consumers, staff and other stakeholders at all times
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service


  • Bachelors Degree, in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 7 years of relative work and supervisory experience
  • Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Experience with Federal grants a plus
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office suites
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Close attention to detail is required as well as ability to multi-task

This is a full-time position and typically works Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
