Georgia Cares seeks a qualified candidate to serve in the position of Assessment Coordinator. The Assessment Coordinator position is a direct service position and is responsible for the in-person assessment of youth referred to Georgia Cares for suspicion of DMST/CSEC. The Assessment Coordinator conducts assessments with youth utilizing the Georgia Cares research-based assessment tool (CANS-CSE) to determine the youth’s victimization status, trauma history, needs, and strengths. This position works closely with legal guardians, community providers, and custody agencies. The Assessment Coordinator is responsible for making referrals and recommendations for all youth assessed, ensuring each youth receive services needed for them to heal and thrive. This position ensures that the professional recommendations are individualized, trauma-informed, and culturally competent, with the goal of addressing each youth’s specific needs. Lastly, the Assessment Coordinator is responsible for conducting trainings and participating in partner meetings, as needed, to increase collaboration and communication. The Assessment Coordinator is dispatched anywhere throughout the state as Georgia Cares’ service area is statewide and meets with youth in any setting.

 

Georgia Cares seeks a candidate who is dependable, hardworking, and invested in making a long-term impact in supporting the statewide response to child sex trafficking. The ideal candidate would demonstrate strong work ethic, empathy and experience working with youth and families, and proficient organization skills. The position requires a candidate who is dependable, organized, and demonstrates respect in working with youth and families. The candidate would also possess strong time management skills, prioritization, and experience with vulnerable populations. This position is a full-time position and will be a fieldwork/telework position, meaning that the position will be in the field working with clients and working from home. After a 3-month training and orientation phase, direct service employees are permitted to work remotely and report to the administrative office 4- 6 days per month. This position will include travel around the state as our youth service area is statewide.

 

DUTIES • Complete assessments for youth referred to Georgia Cares within the 24-hour timeframe. • Confirm exploitation and/or trafficking history through the assessment tool in order to ensure Georgia Cares is serving confirmed victims. • Refer all “not confirmed” youth to appropriate partners or services outside of Georgia Cares.

 

• Complete an Assessment Outcome Template Form for each confirmed victim and provide a copy of the report to DFCS (if DFCS is the guardian) within 24 hours. • Complete all summary, notes, and forms related to the assessment within 3 days of the completed assessment visit. • Maintain a caseload during the Collaborative Stabilization phase. Responsibilities include: monthly contact, crisis stabilization, service referrals (particularly for trauma-informed therapy), following up on recommendations made, advocacy, attending meetings and court hearings when applicable, etc. • Conduct and complete re-Assessments when assigned. • Engage with potential community service providers that will support youth served through Georgia Cares. • Ensure proper reporting and documentation of services, contacts, and communications with family and outside providers. This includes entering case notes to the Collaborate system within three business days of contact. • Participate in bi-monthly staff meetings, team meetings, and case review meetings. • Research new providers for services to DMST/CSEC youth. • Complete special projects as assigned by the CEO, Director of Programming and Assessment Program Coordinator. • This program requires coverage 24/7 to respond to referrals in need of assessment. This position requires participation in the on-call rotation. • Support and promote Georgia Cares Mission, Vision, and Strategic Priorities by adhering to the agency’s Guiding Principles both internally and among the community. • Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS • Must possess a master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) • Must possess licensure in the State of Georgia or ability to be licensed within 90 days • Eligible for annual salary range $32,000 - $36,000 • Must pass a background check and criminal records fingerprint check • Must possess a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel throughout the state of Georgia • Preference will be given to candidates with fluent non-English speaking skills
