The Opportunity:

The decennial Census is a constitutional mandate and is one of the most important processes conducted every 10 years. Census data is used to allocate billions of dollars in federal funds to support our country’s infrastructure and determine political representation at all levels of government. It is also an opportunity for every individual in the United States to be counted.
United Way Bay Area’s (UWBA) mission is to be the catalyst that inspires people to invest in each other to strengthen our communities.  We envision a strong, vibrant and inclusive Bay Area where neighbors collaborate to create opportunities for everyone.  We activate individuals and organizations to break the cycle of poverty.
Our goal is to ensure that every person in the Bay Area is counted in the 2020 Census.  UWBA was selected by the California State Census Office to serve as the “Administrative Community-Based Organization” (ACBO) for Region 3, which includes Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano counties.
