Summary of the Position:

Women Deliver seeks a consultant for a short-term consultancy supporting fall/winter proposal development management and writing needs associated with government funding. This role will work closely with the External Relations Team based in NYC and Ottawa along with key focals from each of the program teams.

Consultant's Expertise/Background:

The consultant has extensive experience and is a recognized expert in proposal development / grant writing associated with government funding, and specifically (but not limited to) the Government of Canada. The consultant has a deep understanding of gender equality, advocacy organizations, Results Based Management approach, and with a preference for experience in developing proposals aligned to the Government of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.

Scope

  • Write, synthesize, and edit compelling and accurate proposal content using RBM best practices
  • Meet and integrate proposal requirements and deadlines (both internal and external)
  • Gather and integrate financial and programmatic information – combining with research elements and data
  • Compile and project manage submission – including all supporting documents
  • Represent and communicate donor’s interests and expectations to an internal (staff audience), with a focus on compliance elements
  • Work closely with the External Relations, Finance, and HR focals
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite
  • Other duties as assigned.

Timeline and Level of Effort

Initial Consultancy Period: September - November 2019

  • Anticipated start date: September 9
  • Women Deliver provides the opportunity to consider extending the consultancy period after 3 months, based on mutual alignment and need

Level of Effort: Full-Time or Part-Time
