Facilities Technician
Notre Dame Academy is a Marist Catholic and International Baccalaureate World School serving students in grade pre-k through high school and located in Duluth, Georgia.
The role of the Facilities Technician is to maintain the grounds, physical plant and equipment, set up for school events and ensure the facility is secure. Reports to Facilities Supervisor. This is a full-time 12 month position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning- Anticipates school events, prepares for set up. Implements preventative maintenance program.
Daily Maintenance- Repairs equipment and maintains physical plant, ensures grounds are tidy, delivers packages, replaces supplies. Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs, replaces incandescent and florescent bulbs and tubes, repairs ballasts and fixtures. Minor painting and carpentry work as needed. Reconfigures office space, dismantles and installs furniture, coordinates and assists with employee moves. Hangs pictures, shelving and white boards. Performs minor plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets and unclogging drains. Replaces filters. Performs cleaning duties as necessary. May be asked to drive (small, on-CDL) busses occasionally. Performs minor outdoor and/or landscaping repairs. Oversees completion of facility projects as needed.
Security- Ensures school is secure at the end of each business day, acts as security contact, makes off-hour checks
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
GED or High School
2-5 years Experience. Self-starter
Familiarity with HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, buildings and grounds maintenance and operations
