Heading Home seeks an experienced advancement director (AD) to lead its donor relationship and fundraising efforts.  The AD is responsible for financial development strategies and for forging new relationships to build Heading Home’s impact and financial resources. 

The AD’s primary foci are donor stewardship, major gifts, annual campaigns, planned giving, board leadership in development, events and other strategies, as identified.  The AD is part of an executive leadership team, answers directly to the CEO and supervises a department of four staff.  The AD also works in tandem with the Grants and Contracts Director.

Applicants must have demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining and stewarding donors to increased levels of giving and commitment to organizational vision.  Executive leadership skill in supervision and collaboration is critical, as is the ability to self-initiate and enact a broad, comprehensive development plan.  The AD will expand, deepen and diversify Heading Home’s donor base.  It is expected that Heading Home revenues will increase in future years through the AD’s systematic and effective strengthening of the organization’s overall fundraising capacity.

Successful applicants will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit development; excellent verbal and written communication skills; good interactive people skills that build strong and lasting relationships; high energy and passion for Heading Home’s vision; demonstrable ability to work with donor database tracking systems and strong attention to detail.

Salary range is $60-$85,000; hiring range is entry to mid-level and includes a 3% match to a Simple IRA plan, substantial paid time off, and partial health and dental benefits.  Interested applicants should email a cover letter and résumé to dennisp@headinghome.org.  Position is open until filled.
