The Opportunity

The Coastal Land Trust is seeking an effective, detailed oriented professional fundraiser to join our dynamic development team. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator’s key responsibilities are the administration of our donor database (Raiser’s Edge) and managing our annual membership program.  This position is a key component of our campaign team assisting with cultivation events, preparing reports, and managing visits and meetings.  They are responsible for managing the Coastal Land Trust’s social media platforms and provide support for Board of Director meetings and development events.

What you will do:

Database Administration

  • Manage all gift-entry and acknowledgement processes and making recommendations for improvements where appropriate
  • Accurately record and update constituent records
  • Manage the annual membership program through monthly mail solicitations
  • Manage all online donations and recurring gifts
  • Provide administrative support for the development team by tracking event attendance and revenue; using queries to create mailing lists and gift reports; and producing donor profiles and reports
  • Refresh and update renewal and acknowledgement letters as needed

Campaign Support:

  • Record and manage donor visits, solicitations, and proposals in Raiser’s Edge
  • Monitor campaign progress and create reports for the committee and board
  • Serve as the secretary for committee meetings
  • Assist with logistics for campaign events

Social Media:

  • Manage the Coastal Land Trust’s social media accounts
    • Keep our social media updated and engaging
    • Create and maintain content calendar according to our Communications Plan

As a part of the Development team

  • Contribute energy, inspiration, ideas, and insight for special events, donor appeals, and external communications
  • Provide support for events, meetings, and volunteer gatherings
  • Professionally interact with board members, donors, land owners, volunteers, and other members of the community as a representative of the Coastal Land Trust
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and career and personal development opportunities
  • Assist the Executive Director with board meetings by preparing board packets and assisting with meeting logistics
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned in support of our mission

What we are looking for:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge 7 or 3+ years of experience in a role that required nearly-daily use of a complex fundraising and relationship management software
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a development office
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined approach to work and problem solving
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated experience with MS Office
  • Commitment to excellence, integrity and professionalism
  • Experience managing multiple social media platforms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and volunteers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional night and weekend events, travelling as required
  • Good sense of humor and a positive attitude are always appreciated
