Job Title: Robotics Coordinator
Reports To: Program Support Manager_ STEM
Status: Temporary/Seasonal Part-time
Location: Mableton Business Center
JOB SUMMARY
The Robotics Facilitator will support the STEM Specialist and our robotics education program. He/She will research technology, computer programming, competitive needs, and development of delivery techniques & materials of the teams. The Facilitator will work with volunteers and robotics teams while assisting with training and competition support. This is a Part-time Seasonal position that will need to be available to 1-2 days in an office environment with occasional evenings & weekends.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate outlined Robotics Program
- Having knowledge and the ability to articulate the mission, leadership experience, key message points and brand for Girl Scouting
- Communicate effectively and deliver coaching and training sessions to volunteers and girls Analyze demographics and resources and use them in developing optimal delivery structure for the area including under-served girls
- Provide excellent customer care and follow-up with all stakeholders involved
- Encouraging and supporting girls in attaining desired goals
- Processing and completing paperwork according to council procedures
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Have a passion for youth and a drive to pursue a career in nonprofits, education, or STEM careers Access to a computer and Internet during the length of their internship
- Knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math as it relates to girls including but not limited to social media, trends and programs
- Knowledge of FIRST Robotics:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional maturity
- Ability to facilitate large group discussions and deliver program to groups of 100+ Ability to organize fun, interactive, girl-led activities in a learning environment Commitment to excellent attendance at meetings, events, and workshops
- Must have reliable transportation
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Lego Robotics
- Knowledge of Girl Scout organization
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Willingness or ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
- Available for at 1-2 weekly in office days (meetings, project work)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires the physical mobility to sit or walk for moderate periods of time and to carry or lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
*Must successfully complete a criminal, motor vehicle and credit background check.
