Job Description
We are seeking experienced early childcare professionals to work in our NAEYC accredited, 3-Star Quality Rated program. We have a Lead Teacher opening in our Toddler classroom. Candidates should embody the qualities of a great Lead teacher- dependable, caring, responsible, open to learning, and have a genuine love for working with children. But above all, we are seeking someone who works best in a collaborative environment.
Required Qualifications:
- *** Must have a Bachelor's Degree AND 2-3 years of Lead Teacher Experience in a Licensed Childcare Center ***
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childcare Education Preferred
- Bilingual in either Spanish or Portuguese is a plus but not required
- Must be able to pass a Comprehensive Nationwide Background Check and Drug Screening
Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm shift Monday through Friday (Full-Time)
Pay: Varies - Based on Education Level and Experience
Overall Responsibilities:
- Actively engage and use positive communication with the children during all daily activities to promote learning through play and reinforce positive behavior.
- Ensure the safety of each child enrolled in the class whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in common areas;
- Treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background;
- Serve as a role model for the children in the areas of attitude, speech, and actions on a daily basis;
- Maintain regular observation and evaluation of children's development and progress as directed by administration;
- Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
- Encourage children's development in the areas of building self-confidence, problem-solving, and taking responsibility for their actions;
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment, maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children, including but not limited to potty training.
- Maintain portfolio for each student; Complete weekly lesson plans, goals, and newsletters;
- Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices that will include the areas of physical, emotional, social and cognitive needs of the young children.
- Accept and maintain responsibility on a daily basis for the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and cleanliness of the learning environment of the classroom.
