The Senior Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Administration and Technology Services and is responsible for all aspects of day to day operations, performing highly responsible and complex administrative duties in support of the Law School’s Center for Student Success. Additionally, this position manages and administers the note sharing program for students with disabilities and serves as the primary staff liaison and general advisor to student leaders and student organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serve as front line staff for Center for Student Success suite: answer general questions about administrative and academic policies of law school; respond to a high volume of telephone, email and in-person inquiries; maintain tidy and welcoming front office appearance.

Provide administrative support to the Law Student Affairs staff: proofread, format and process correspondence; screen telephone calls and visitors; schedule appointments; create, update, and maintain a wide range of files and data records; maintain and update the Law Student Affairs webpages; monitor and order supplies as needed. Work in close contact with Registrar’s Office, Office of Career Services, the University Hub, and other departments.

Serve as primary support for the Honors Lawyering Program and the Externship Program, assisting program directors with communications, course management, outreach events, etc.   

Collect and process forms and petitions; analyze data and prepare reports and spreadsheets as needed; assist with special projects, including the academic evaluation process, and student surveys.

Serve as primary staff liaison to student leaders, Student Bar Association, and diverse student organizations (SORGs). Maintain database of student leaders and SORGs, Attend SORG and Student Bar Association meetings. Under the leadership of the Associate Dean (and in collaboration with other departments), oversee training on SORG operation, leadership, program planning, conflict resolution, fundraising, professionalism, safety, and alcohol/substance. Create and maintain a SORG Handbook; oversee SORG content in the Student Handbook section on leadership and on the website. Provide administrative management of the Student Conference and Travel Policy.

Serve as primary editor and publisher of the weekly student newsletter, Law School News; serve as the primary editor and publisher of law school department and SORG material on the law school digital signage

Type, edit and/or assist with production, maintenance and updating of administrative publications, including the Law Student Handbook and publicity materials for events.

Coordinate and manage a variety of student services, programs and events: assist in disability services, first-year orientation program, exams, graduation, and other events and services as needed.

Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of:  Proficiency using office machines, including word-processing and database applications in a networked PC environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required; expertise with Excel, specifically, preferred. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign or other design software, expense tracking, data processing and record keeping.
  • Ability to:  Work independently, organize simultaneous projects, demonstrate initiative, and exercise professional judgment under minimal supervision. Maintain school’s strict confidentiality policies. Cordially handle a variety of different student questions and concerns with resourcefulness and accuracy. Think analytically, attend to details, compose high quality business correspondence, edit written materials, and solve complex problems. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships emphasizing efficiency and student service. Must be punctual.
  • Experience and Education:  Minimum two years related experience. Prior experience with diverse populations in an academic environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
