Job Details
About Humane Society Silicon Valley:
Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) delivers innovative programs that save lives and deepen human-animal connection. Our Model Shelter and the people and programs within it redefine what is possible in the field of animal welfare. In 2017, HSSV became the first organization in the world to implement the Association of Shelter Medicine’s 543 guidelines promoting health and wellness in a shelter environment. Today, we are committed to maintaining or improving our world-class 95% save rate and are engaged in sharing our learnings and best practices with peers striving to save more lives in their own communities.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
The Senior Development Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, project management (pre, during, and post-event), and day-of execution of HSSV’s annual signature fundraising event, The Fur Ball. This team member also carries a dynamic portfolio of approximately 75 prospective and current major donors and is responsible for identification, cultivation, budget planning, solicitation, and stewardship for major and planned gifts resulting from this work.
About The Fur Ball:
The Fur Ball, now entering its 17th year, is a formal event that generates more $1 million dollars in lifesaving funds each year. Because this once invitation-only event has reached its zenith, selling-out year-after-year to more than 500 guests and their dogs, we are refreshing the event to make it even more thrilling for guests and to scale its fundraising impact. On March 28, 2020, we will leverage its now “in-demand” reputation by opening it to the public and relocating from the quiet grounds of Atherton’s lovely Menlo Circus Club to the buzzworthy Levi Stadium. By inviting not only fans of HSSV, but anyone in our community to purchase tickets or tables, and building a robust marketing campaign to drive that attendance, we’re creating exciting opportunities to partner with corporate sponsors and identify and cultivate new individual donors.
