About the position: First Book is applying technology and business approaches to the challenge of providing all children in the US and Canada with access to books.  First Book currently serves more than 20,000 Title I schools, afterschool initiatives, clinics, shelters, and a wide variety of other programs serving children in need. Though powerful, First Book is only reaching a small fraction of the approximately 2 million programs and Title I classrooms eligible for our help. We have exciting opportunities to use technology to serve more and more of these programs and are looking for a Salesforce- Administrator to join our technology team.

Responsibilities: Working with key stakeholders in First Book to objectively establish the general guidelines for Salesforce data organization in the following disciplines:

  • Donations / development
  • email marketing
  • campaign management
  • deal pipeline
  • service desk
  • workflow management
  • Daily administration and support of First Book Salesforce database including but not limited to managing multiple user setup, profiles, and roles, customization of objects, fields, record types, page layouts and validations
  • Working with management, strategic planning & analysis staff, and end-users to create and manage complex workflow rules, data validation, and triggers
  • Develop and create customized reports and dashboards
  • Keeping abreast of new Salesforce NPSP features and functionality as well as additional tools within the SF ecosystem to provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Train new and existing users on how to use Salesforce and other tools in the SF ecosystem
  • Create matrix-based reports to demonstrate the dashboards
  • Provide application users with technical support
  • Create a single repository of information assimilating and integrating with various downward and upward systems
  • Support the software testing process, which includes devising test plans, creating test cases, establishing protocols and appropriate testing environments and coordinating actual software testing

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent work/technical experience
  • 2+ years Salesforce NPSP experience
  • Experience working in one or more of the following disciplines within Salesforce NPSP and bring a holistic data view.
    • Donations / development
    • email marketing
    • campaign management
    • deal pipeline
    • service desk
    • workflow management
  • Salesforce NPSP certification required
  • Experience with Classy, Pardot and other SF ecosystem tools
  • Understanding of relational databases and data integration tools
  • Experience with programming languages such as PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, APEX
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Close attention to detail, and
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects
