Purpose

 

The purpose of the Programs Coordinator is to effectively supervise program staff to ensure programs are operating in compliance with all funding and licensing requirements, and at an optimum level.

Responsibilities

Supervise agency programs/staff, specifically:  Transitional and Community Services, Client Entry and Teen Dating Violence  ensuring that all programs are operating in accordance with program design and grant contracts.

Assure that all victims are being served in a timely manner ensuring that all victims are treated with respect and dignity.

Provide clinical assessments of all victims coming into the housing programs and other victims as necessary. Work in partnership with psychologists and therapist to develop holistic and accurate assessments and individualized, achievable case plans.

Prepare monthly reports on all programs; status, caseload, successes and failures, and work with management to mold programs toward continual quality improvement.

Oversee the evaluation and statistical reporting of all programs ensuring timely submission of all reports required by the agency and funders.

Work with management to discern gaps in services both within and outside of the organization. Assisting in the development of programs and/or partnerships to fill those gaps.

Learn and implement new programs including hiring of staff and development of job description.

Provide training and development opportunities as appropriate for programs.

Confer regularly with staff to review employee relations climate: "specific problem areas, and actions necessary for improvement, including policies, procedures, staff evaluations, and etc., motivating program staff to improve quality and quantity of work performed.

Communicate regularly with staff of progress toward defined goals and/or required results at the beginning of performance period and gain acceptance of ideas creating a shared vision.

Interview, place and supervise college interns.

To ensure that staff delivers quality services to the victims of domestic/or family violence.

To supervise and guide staff in a process that promotes positive client outcomes to meet the requirements of funding agencies.

To assist in the coordination of staff supports and coverage for the emergency shelter.

To perform appropriate staff evaluations as needed, and coaching when staff has identified areas of improvement.

Provide crisis intervention services and help develop processes that will help improve the levels of services provided.

Develop relationships with the Department of Children Services Supervisors and other appropriate staff.

Provide training and education related to Domestic Violence to the community, Department of Family and Children Services, and other organizations.

Promote increased participation with various organizations, clubs and groups to help increase the support to the agency.

To have flexibility to help meet the mission and goals of the agency.

To ensure that documentation is performed according to agency policies and in a timely manner.

To perform regular chart audits to ensure that charts are complete and in an orderly manner.

To conduct regular staff meetings to provide update agency information, review client status, and to help develop appropriate case plans and how to address client concerns and or issues.

To develop an understanding of program requirements and methods of helping the agency to meet all requirements, with the objective of exceeding expectations.

To perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the agency.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Masters Degree in Social Work and or related field and at least two years experience in the field of social services.

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage programs and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce psychosocial assessments, write case plans,
  • Efficient computer skills including, but no limited to Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge on issues surrounding Domestic Violence/ and or family violence,  and homelessness
