The CarePool Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for leading a team of volunteers to provide free rides for older adults to medical appointments and the grocery store.  Duties for this role include outreach, volunteer recruitment & training, volunteer tracking & record management, supporting rider eligibility & trip requests, monitoring rider & volunteer satisfaction, and other duties to ensure effective delivery of the program. 

  • Outreach:   Perform continuous outreach to the community with the goal of raising awareness for the program and recruiting more volunteers.  This may include presentations, media interviews, local meetings and community gatherings.
  • Communications:  Send out daily communication to volunteers with pending rides report.  Manage all program email, phone calls and letters (those not designated the responsibility of the call center).
  • Recruitment & Training:  Continue volunteer driver recruitment initiative and intake.  Achieve designated volunteer engagement and recruitment metrics. Provide volunteer driver training and orientation, shepherding the volunteers through the process to ensure rapid indoctrination and uptake of the program.
  • Reporting, Tracking & Record Management:  Ensure all files and documentation are current for volunteers and riders. Complete monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting of metrics. Prepare 5310 grant documentation.
  • Rider Eligibility & Trip Requests:  Support scheduling staff with rider eligibility & trip requests; track and report on rider eligibility & trip requests.
  • Rider & Volunteer Satisfaction:  Perform rider & volunteer satisfaction calls; track and report on rider & volunteer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in conducting outreach, presentations and promotions to increase results
  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively with coworkers and volunteers
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and leadership skills
  • Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively develop solutions to problems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
