About the Position: 

Berkeley Exec Ed is looking for a Curriculum Designer to work with our VP of Curriculum, Faculty, and subject matter experts to translate our clients’ learning and development needs into engaging and innovative executive education programs. The Curriculum Designer will use learning theory, instructional design methodology, and technical knowledge to define learning objectives, articulate learning journeys, and create transformative educational experiences for learners in the corporate, university, and government sectors. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP Curriculum to develop and review proposed project efforts to determine scope, learning milestones, and timeframes
  • Partner with Marketing and Business Development teams to design curricula for RFPs, other comprehensive program design, and priority proposals 
  • Work closely with the Business Development and Program Management teams, Faculty, and VP Curriculum to determine needs throughout the design process in alignment with strategic and operational goals 
  • Execute systems for pedagogical best practices and content delivery, e.g., in-person, immersive, online, and blended
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend innovative methods for executive development, including technology-based learning, assessment methodologies, coaching and other means to increase the breadth and impact of our offerings
  • Participate in open enrollment (OE) and custom program reviews to better understand what resonates in the marketplace and to help develop measurable program specific improvement plans
  • Engage in the lead qualification and early design process via the Inbound Lead Team - joining calls with clients based on initial outreach to Exec Ed
  • Provide the BD team and others with thought leadership around experiential, applied and impactful learning experiences at the executive level, for both internal and external purposes
  • Productize OE offerings into business development materials (sample schedules, custom menu) to more readily support custom program development within the corporate, government and University sectors
  • Apply Executive Education faculty standards by implementing an equitable / merit-based distribution of opportunities to our faculty
  • Curate and maintain open channels of communication with faculty, and foster positive faculty connections that will support program development needs 

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current instructional theories and principles applicable to online blended, and in-person learning programs 
  • Outstanding instructional design, online/blended/in-person course development experience, writing and communication skills
  • Ability to move multiple projects from concept to completion 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task, and manage last-minute needs and changes gracefully
  • Self-starter with high sense of urgency
  • Experience in instructional design, educational technology, or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, or Business preferred. 

Salary and Benefits:

Berkeley Executive Education offers a competitive compensation package, including medical/dental/vision/insurance, 401k, vacation leave, sick leave and 16 paid holidays. Salary is commensurate with experience.
