Agenda for Change Overview
Launched in 2015, Agenda for Change is a collaborative response to the challenge of reaching sustainable service delivery for all as outlined in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) related targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration brings together organizations committed to aligning policy and practice around a shared set of principles and ways of working to achieve universal access to sustainable WASH services. Currently there are nine members and we plan to expand the membership in 2019.

Agenda for Change has a Global Hub comprising a Steering Committee, Executive Committee, Membership Committee, Secretariat, and three Working Groups. These constituent parts govern, operate, and provide support for the collaboration. The Secretariat consists of a Global Coordinator and a Content Strategist, both staff hired by the hosting member (IRC). All of the other roles on the committees and working groups are undertaken by staff of the member organizations on a voluntary basis.

Job Description: Agenda for Change Content Strategist
Agenda for Change is looking for a bright, articulate and tech savvy Content Strategist to support the collaboration as its members work to bring sustained water and sanitation services and hygiene behavior to communities around the world.

As the Content Strategist, you will shape and influence the way Agenda for Change communicates about systems strengthening. You will curate compelling content based on evidence, case studies, and stories from our members, supporting our knowledge sharing and advocacy for a variety of audiences and channels. You’ll craft products for our learning events, website, email programs, social channels, blog, and much more.

About you
You are a remarkable writer; an even better editor.
You think about the audience first. You care about the experience and strive to provide value in every piece of content you create.
You can compile knowledge on a theme from diverse formats into a concise and credible product.

You can express your opinion confidently and diplomatically.
You are not reluctant to speak up when you disagree, or when you think something needs improvement, and you do it with confidence and respect for others.

You are a self-starter.
You work the plan without waiting for direction. You see something broken, and you fix it.

You are a team player.
You find creative ways to motivate members and get them excited about participating in your projects.
You are energized by helping the collaboration do its best work. You do not care who has the idea, as long as it is good. You care more about the result than about personal recognition.

What you will be doing
 Create a work plan for the implementation of the knowledge management strategy.
 Support annual review of the knowledge management strategy and adapt if necessary based on lessons learned, new evidence etc.

Collect and curate
 Maintain regular communication with members, including country-level teams, to stay up to date on their program milestones and knowledge products being developed.
 Collect and organize lessons learned from members (e.g. briefs, reports, blogs).
 In coordination with the various member-led Working Groups, contribute towards the development of key content (e.g., template presentations, systems monitoring reports, talking points for donors).
 Ensure that Agenda for Change is inclusive in its approach to knowledge management and communications (e.g. arrange for translation of key documents, interpretation services for events and webinars, multimedia content).

Share and amplify
 Plan and execute global learning events (estimated one per year).
 Organize Agenda for Change presence at global events – like Stockholm World Water Week and UNC Water and Health conference.
 Develop a process to socialize new content internally and externally (e.g., monthly e-updates, webinars).
 Develop a central content calendar.
 Produce a quarterly newsletter for external audiences.
 Facilitate collaborative submission of abstracts by members for relevant conferences or webinars.

Build and manage
 Develop the information architecture for a content management system that ensures resources can be easily located by internal and external audiences.
 Maintain version control and ensure content is updated regularly.
 Overhaul the website (or manage through a consultant) to ensure high visibility of evidence and resources.
 Create an onboarding system for new members to include key background documents and training of how to navigate the content management system.

Qualifications
Required
 Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or other relevant field
 Three years’ working experience in knowledge management, communications, or similar activities
 Demonstrated experience in project management
 Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
 Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
 Ability to design and execute a detailed work plan
 Willingness to travel (estimated three international trips per year for conferences and learning events)
 English fluency

Preferred
 Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders to produce high-quality content
 Understanding of water, sanitation, hygiene, international development, and/or global health, systems approaches
 Facilitation skills
 Experience in knowledge management, information architecture
 Experience in web design and content production
 Spanish and/or French fluency
