Habitat for Humanity-North Central Georgia, Inc. has an opening for a Resource Development Director.  Habitat-NCG, an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an affordable housing ministry located in Roswell, Georgia.  The position is full-time; the salary range is commensurate with qualifications and experience.   Working with Habitat-NCG is a blessing as you will both impact lives and enjoy incredible job satisfaction. 

Position Summary

The affiliate’s two Resource Development Directors – in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors – are responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing all aspects of resource development for the affiliate.  The positions provide leadership in connection with all fundraising initiatives, including home sponsorships, the annual fund (including direct mail), major gifts, planned giving, and special events and campaigns.  The positions are responsible for formulating and implementing both long- and short-term fundraising strategies and tactics to increase contributions and grant revenue, while concurrently expanding the affiliate’s donor base and deepening the commitment of existing donors.

Responsibilities and Duties

Development:  Develop and implement long-range development plans consistent with the affiliate’s strategic plans and resource development goals; prepare comprehensive annual fundraising, marketing, and communications plans;  develop and implement donor solicitation and cultivation plans for existing house sponsors; identify and pursue new house sponsors, including foundations, major corporations, local businesses, churches and other houses of worship,  and civic organizations; pursue existing and new sources for government and foundation funding; develop a planned giving program; prepare and submit grant applications, and coordinate with the affiliate’s volunteer coordinator in assigning sponsors and volunteers to specific homebuilding projects.

Marketing and Communications:  Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies and plans; develop marketing materials and resource development tools, including brochures, digital newsletters, and the affiliate’s annual report; maintain the affiliate’s website and expand the use of social media; conduct direct mail campaigns; prepare and distribute press releases; assist with engaging the affiliate in affordable housing advocacy.  (The open position will have a heavy emphasis in the marketing and communication areas.)

Events and Activities:  Plan and conduct fundraising and donor and volunteer recognition events; support and attend fundraising events conducted by house sponsors; attend networking and community awareness events.

Administration:  Maintain the affiliate’s database to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry; oversee gift acknowledgments; prepare fundraising and house funding reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Professional or volunteer experience in fundraising, marketing, and communications;
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in public speaking;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and/or other creative software;
  • Comfortable in a faith-based environment; a passion for Habitat’s mission.
