Lena Pope seeks a visionary, inspirational leader with an entrepreneurial spirit to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. Established in 1930, Lena Pope Home was a refuge for children and families during the depression and post-war years. Since its inception, the agency now known simply as Lena Pope, has identified the needs of the local children and designed programs to meet those needs. For more than 89 years, Lena Pope has been helping create hope for children and families in North Texas. The agency focuses on evidence-based prevention and early intervention programs to improve the lives of children and families. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will serve as leader, steward, and primary spokesperson for Lena Pope overseeing the fiscal, programmatic and operational management of the organization. As CEO, this individual will also serve as Superintendent of Chapel Hill Academy, Lena Pope’s open-enrollment, tuition-free public charter school. With oversight of an operating budget over $16 million and an endowment of $40 million, the CEO is responsible for envisioning, developing and overseeing the educational, child well-being, and juvenile justice programs, services, partnerships and affiliations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a diverse human service, corporate, educational, or nonprofit organization. The CEO should have a good understanding of the human service and/or educational arena and demonstrate strong business acumen, which will enable this person to make effective decisions regarding the future and growth of the agency. Knowledge of governmental and child and family fiscal regulations and reporting requirements would be beneficial.
