The National MS Society is currently seeking a highly organized and experienced full time Recruiter to assist with identifying and interviewing top talent as well as continuously developing and assessing a candidate pipeline for the organization's priority and strategic talent needs. The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and onboarding for positions across multiple functions. This position cultivates strong relationships both internally and externally and must be able to think critically while working in a fast-paced environment.  This position is part of the Human Resources team and will report to the Recruitment Manager.

Responsibilities

Day to Day Responsibilities (80%)

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand the talent needs of the role; design and implement an efficient hiring strategy for open positions.
  • Screen talent to ensure candidates are qualified, cultural fits, and fully vetted for their interest in the role. Evaluate employment factors such as job experience, education and training, skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Communicate with hiring manager on the status of requisitions, candidate quality and candidate pipeline. Provide timely and consistent feedback and recommendations on candidate.
  • Oversee incoming applications and manage communication with candidates providing timely feedback to ensure positive candidate experience and expedited hiring
  • Build relationships with potential candidates on a continual basis through calls, email, and networking
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation on all candidates in the ATS system
  • Maintain contact with hard to find skilled candidates using various communication techniques to keep the candidates interested in the organization.
  • Recommend outside-the-box recruiting approaches and outreach strategies to develop and maintain future candidates, source for vacancies, and support future hiring needs.

Additional Responsibilities/Special Projects (20%):

  • Assist with job fairs and recruiting events as needed
  • Recruitment Team liaison to internship program
  • Provide project support for various HR initiatives and ad hoc projects as needed
  • Keep informed and knowledgeable regarding local, state and national laws pertaining to employment and hiring practices

  Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science 
  • Six years of directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of full life cycle recruitment experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to quickly build rapport and trust
  • Experience working on various roles and in a high-volume environment
  • Experience with and knowledge of screening, behavioral interviewing, selection and candidate assessment; able to evaluate candidates based on role requirements and needs
  • Demonstrated successful experience directly soliciting passive candidates
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and excellent problem-solving skills
  • The willingness and desire to work independently, as well as collaboratively, and to take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to adjust expected tasks and schedule to the updated priorities
  • Knowledge of recruiting policies, procedures, and laws

  Requirements/Other

Technical/Other:

  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems 
  • HRIS experience preferred
