The Center for Popular Democracy and CPD Action (together, CPD/A) work to promote equity, opportunity, and a dynamic democracy in partnership with innovative base-building organizations, organizing networks and alliances, and progressive unions across the country. We currently work with more than 45 partner organizations in more than 38 states, Puerto Rico, and D.C., and build the strength and capacity of democratic organizations to envision and advance a pro-worker, pro-immigrant, racial and economic justice agenda. About the Position:

CPD/A is seeking a Director of Talent and Equity. This is an new position that will recruit, develop, and retain talent and further an organizational culture of diversity, inclusion, equity and leadership. The Director of Talent and Equity will work closely with the HR team, members of the Senior Leadership Team, supervisors and staff across the organization on trainings, systems, and other approaches to fulfill the organization's commitment diversity, equity and inclusion. This person will be able to balance complex, multi stakeholder processes, be able to facilitate dialogue and identify areas of alignment, and create, implement, and follow through on organizational workplans.

Primary Responsibilities

The Director of Talent and Equity will:

  • Develop and implement equitable recruitment, hiring, and onboarding practices, in collaboration with HR team for high-quality and racially diverse staff;

  • Coordinate trainings for staff on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion;

  • In collaboration with HR team, support supervisor trainings and consistent application of protocols and policies throughout the organization;

  • Guide and support committee, caucuses, and other internal groups that further equity, understanding;

  • Develop and implement staff survey, data collection, and analysis relevant to meeting DEI goals;

  • Support pay equity analysis, compensation systems, and pay equity committee recommendations;

  • Identify, develop, and implement other systems, approaches, supports for  strong and healthy organization, and a place where all staff can thrive.

Job Requirements

  • Preferably at least 10 years experience in organizing, campaigns, or non profit administration;

  • Demonstrated commitment to social, racial and economic justice;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to be diplomatic and have discretion in dealings with others; high degree of professionalism, tact, initiative, and diplomacy;

  • Strong communication, presentation, training, and organizational skills;

  • Ability to work well independently and to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment;

  • Dedication to organizational excellence, compassion, problem-solving, and sustainable solutions

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. We have a generous benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 15 vacation days per year, 10 sick days per year, 12 paid holidays per year, and contributions to individuals’ 401K plans.
