The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Planned Giving – Promotion Coordinator  for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Job Summary

Coordinates, mentors, plans and executes new business development promotions for the Planned Giving Directors in the Southern Territory. Serves as the primary contact with Divisional Planned Giving staff for day-to-day new business logistics. Plans, oversees and implements the territory-wide marketing and promotional campaigns utilizing vendor partners and internal stakeholders. Manages divisional marketing materials, and coordination of multi-channel campaigns including print, advertising and digital promotions. Oversees all vendor compliance for print, broadcast and digital products including brand compliance and response strategy including third party and SA web sites. Plans and coordinates arrangements for training sessions and conferences; conducts training sessions and provides ongoing training assistance to field staff for promotional logistics as needed. Conducts and prepares analytics and reporting tools or spreadsheets to support strategy and program implementation; oversees accurate tracking systems for the processing of outright and endowment gifts, assists the divisions with planned giving promotional efforts.  Mentors and guides staff responsible for providing campaign promotions in their Divisions and Planned Giving staff in promotional best practices. Builds and maintains professional relationships with various vendors, reviews and has administrative staff process vendor invoices in a timely manner. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of the general principles and practices of marketing. Knowledge of accepted practices and techniques involved in budget and report preparation, record keeping, public relations, interpersonal relations, and business communications both oral and written.   Knowledge of basic accounting or bookkeeping practices and procedures including ability to prepare spreadsheets. Ability to learn the broad scope of planned giving operations and services in order to serve as an information resource and to provide assistance in a timely and effective manner. Ability to create and produce a variety of marketing materials for print and electronic media. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with outside vendors. Ability to effectively administer and monitor budget funds allocated to spending with outside vendors. Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized. Ability to gather, compile, and assemble information into a final product for letters, records, reports, etc. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in order to accomplish work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines. Ability to determine the most effective and efficient method to accomplish work objectives and goals and to work under limited supervision. Ability to prepare spreadsheets and to maintain computer databases. Ability to file paperwork and maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner. Ability to build and maintain effective and professional relationships with employees at Territorial Headquarters and throughout the Southern Territory. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department. Ability to serve as a lead worker to clerical personnel including assigning and monitoring work for accuracy and completeness. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to manipulate numbers. Ability to type. Ability to operate and answer the telephone.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree   and   Four years’ experience in direct response marketing or nonprofit organization or related field.   Licenses & Certifications:  Valid State Driver’s License

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions 

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 30 lbs.)  Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.  Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
