Join Whistlestop's fundraising team and work with a great development director learning the ins and outs of non-profit donor relations, fundraising databases, and events. We are looking for an excellent writer/ communicator who will bring an attention to detail and perfection to our donor communications and letters. You will be creating, generating and mailing out donor appeals and thank yous, making sure all donotions are entered accurately and promptly acknowledged. You will also help with supporting all the behind-the-scenes logistical support for our many fundraising events - no detail to support our findraising team, our board or donors is too small. You'll be helping to make our events run smoothly and think of everything that might be needed - from food and bev to space to parking to event invitations, reminders and on-site support.
Essential Functions:
Donor Activity:
- Receive, post, acknowledge pledges, donations and event registrations
- Process Electronic Funds Transfers for scheduled gift postings
- Assist with analysis of donor requests, calls and comments
- Phone coverage serving constituent needs/requests; monitor donations email inbox
Event Support:
- Assist with planning and implementation of special events
- Support special fundraising efforts (e.g. Estate Planning Series)
- Assist in cultivating new and existing sponsorships
General Support:
- Generate canned and custom reports; assist with data pulls for specific needs
- Maintain Master Communications Calendar using Asana
- Coordinate social media posts and assist with email campaign management
- Maintain Donor Acknowledgement materials
- Proof direct mail and online appeals
Qualifications:
- Bachelors preferred, associates degree required
- Experience in an administrative support position ideally supporting non-profit fundraising
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, data entry and database exposure / experience
- Ability to utilize attention to detail and accuracy in all work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships
- Experience supporting event planning and logistics is desired
