Job Details

The Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for strategizing, designing and executing the Annual Giving Program at the Grady Health Foundation, including all giving up to $9,999. This individual will use a variety of approaches, including direct marketing and in-person solicitation. She/he is responsible for identifying and qualifying prospective donors, cultivating positive relationships and directly soliciting donations up to $9,999 to support Grady and its patients. This position reports to the Vice President for Development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains goals, objectives, work plans and budgets for all annual giving activities, including donor acquisition, solicitation, stewardship, events and communication
  • Develops strategies and implements plans to identify, renew, and upgrade annual donors and plays a lead role in developing new programs
  • Implements and manages a robust employee giving campaign
  • Maintains and builds an active portfolio of 50-75 current and potential donors capable of making annual gifts of $1,000 - $9,999
  • Coordinates direct mail activities, including preparing solicitations, ensuring timely data transfer to mail houses, monitoring program effectiveness and reporting results; liaises with the Foundation’s Director of Community Engagement on logistics of fundraising materials
  • Implements and manages annual giving societies
  • Manages analysis and growth of donor pool and prospect pipeline, mining data through Raiser’s Edge to develop plans for potential mid-level, major gift, campaign, and legacy gift donors
  • Plans and executes personal visits to fulfill individual and team solicitation strategies and goals and achieve monthly visit targets
  • Works closely with the Development Operations Manager on logistics for direct mail appeals and other related materials
  • Oversees third-party (external) fundraising events
  • Establishes collegial relationships with other members of the Foundation team, as well as clinicians and managers throughout the health system.

    Education and Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 3 years’ experience successfully building individual giving programs. Work in a healthcare setting preferred. Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with, manage and motivate volunteers. Must be computer literate with the capability to use a prospect tracking system to track progress and results. Working knowledge of social media. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable.
