General Description: The Director of Arts Education will be responsible for the development, design, implementation and delivery of quality arts educational programming targeted to students K-12 and related community audiences in support of the mission of the ArtsBridge Foundation.  Position reports to the Executive Director.            

 

Typical Work Routine Includes But Not Limited To:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with diverse educational and community organizations and leaders.

  1. Research and develop relationships with schools, arts organizations and community groups to determine how ArtsBridge Foundation can assist them in achieving their goals by providing educational programming.
  2. Respond to the needs of the community by networking with the diverse organizations and groups that may benefit from partnership with ArtsBridge Foundation.
  3. Represent ArtsBridge Foundation on internal and external boards, committees and at events, meetings, and conferences with partners and peers.

Market and promote the Centre’s educational activities to the metro Atlanta area community

  1. Market and promote ArtsBridge education programs to schools, and educators in the Metro Atlanta community.
  2. Assist with the development and upkeep of department mailing lists
  3. Work with Marketing and Public Relations staff to develop and maintain positive communication and media relations
  4. Contribute story ideas and articles for newsletters, print and electronic media
  5. Work collaboratively with the Cobb Energy Centre team to deliver quality programs.

Manage and control the Program budget.

  1. Manage the education program budgets by monitoring and coordinating revenues and expenses related to educational and outreach activities
  2. Provide information and input for the preparation of an annual budget
  3. Provide financial and status reports as requested or required

Oversee the annual competition and the production of the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards program.

  1. Select and train qualified adjudicators to evaluate school performances
  2. Develop  and communicate evaluation criteria, forms, and processes to adjudicators and schools
  3. Publicize the program to schools and communicate guidelines and details of the program
  4. Coordinate the application process for schools
  5. Establish relationships with school personnel to communicate details and requirements of participation in the program.
  6. Select qualified consultants and arts professionals to develop the annual awards production
  7. Coordinate production details with venue and theater staff, consultants, and contracted artists to rehearse, produce and stage the awards production

Develop educational and outreach activities that will achieve the goals of ArtsBridge Foundation, and that will meet the educational needs of local communities and organizations.

  1. Partner with schools and organizations to develop programs that align with K-12 curriculum.
  2. Design and develop new initiatives that will promote interest and enthusiasm for the performing arts.
  3. Coordinate, program and implement ongoing educational activities
  4. Develop course and program materials which complement and support the initiatives defined by schools, educational, arts and community groups
  5. Develop, distribute and collect evaluation and feedback instruments
  6. Use evaluations to assess and improve the effectiveness of programs.
