The next Executive Director of the Laguna Foundation will have the exciting opportunity to build upon the organization’s respected reputation and achievements in the Laguna watershed. 

The Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to restore and conserve the watershed of the Laguna de Santa Rosa and to inspire public appreciation for this Wetland of International Importance (Ramsar Convention 1971).

The Laguna watershed is a 254 square mile area in the heart of Sonoma County, located fifty-five miles north of San Francisco. The channel of the Laguna de Santa Rosa lies at the western edge of this area and has tributaries which originate on the eastern edge, in the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountains, and which then flow west across the Santa Rosa Plain. The headwaters of the Laguna de Santa Rosa originate just south of the town of Cotati and the terminus, which is twenty-two miles to the north, is the Russian River near Forestville.
