Job Title:  Bank teller Training Instructor

Department:   Economic Empowerment

Reports to:   Unidos in Finance (UIF) Program Coordinator

Status:  Contractor

Position Purpose: The LAA seeks a talented instructor and enthusiastic professional that has a passion for teaching and helping students succeed, to teach subjects related with banking entry level positions.

The successful candidate creates a classroom climate that encourages learning and possesses familiarity with issues facing diverse populations.  The characteristics crucial to success in the position include creative academic leadership skills, excellent communication skills, a sense of humor, and a strong appreciation for working in a collaborative, inclusive, diverse, and participative environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop lesson plans and activities based on provided curriculum
  • Teach classes at the LAA building
  • Assess student periodically to evaluate progress
  • Keep records of the program
  • Attend required meetings
  • Coach / mentor as needed

Time commitment:

Classes will be offered 4 times a week during Fiscal Year 2019-2020. Each session will be 8 weeks long and will teach a minimum of 60 hrs. / session (in the mornings, 3 days a week). Sessions are estimated to start in August and October 2019 and January and March 2020.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English. Spanish desirable, but not require
  • 2 or more years of experience as a bank teller
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Strong commitment to students and to providing high quality instruction
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Compensation:  Salary starts in $25/hr. depending on experience
