The Business and Society Program (Aspen BSP) is one of The Aspen Institutes policy programs and is dedicated to aligning business decisions with the long-term health of society. One of Aspen BSPs essential initiativesis grounded in the belief that business school faculty-through their teaching, research and consulting- are powerful actors in setting the tone in corporations around the world. A key objective of our work in business educationis to build and support a coalition of faculty who, through their teaching, will re-orient business classrooms towards long-term value creation in pursuit of a world in which everyone prospers from business success.

Basic Function

Aspen BSP seeks a highly qualified candidate to advance innovative business teaching and research in support of these goals. The Program Coordinator will work closely with colleagues to deliver excellent programs within the Business Education Cluster. The right candidate will bring enthusiasm for the work of the Business & Society Program, a team-orientation, attention to detail and an ability to work well with others.

Job Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator is based in New York City and reports to the Program Manager. He or she is responsible for the following:

Implementation of Programming Initiatives / Project Management:

  • Create project plans and manage the distribution, follow up and tracking of tasks and milestones

  • Address risks and issues affecting project deadlines, and maintain clear and consistent communication on status

  • Prepare and help manage project budgets

  • Work with the Communication Manager in the implementation of communication plans for initiatives and events

  • Assist in the design and production of new promotional materials

Relationship management and recruitment

  • Execute recruitment strategyfor participants, speakers and facilitators involved in programming

  • Lead outreach, follow-up and the tracking of communications with participants for BSP events

  • Develop and maintain participant databases

  • Perform primary and secondary research on topics, companies, universities and scholars related to recruitment and content development

  • Prepare and track invoicing for any membership payments

Event management & material preparation

  • Design, prepare and distribute event materials and post-event reports

  • Oversee logistics for events, in coordination with the Events Assistant

  • Create pre-and post-event surveys and synthesize survey findings

  • Participate in events/seminars/calls and synthesize findings for participants and other audiences

Other

  • As a member of the Aspen BSP team, the Program Coordinator may be asked to take on similar responsibilities for other Aspen BSP programs throughout the year, as required

Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • 2-4 years of experience providing program management support

  • Demonstrated excellence in project management and the ability to work on multiple, time-sensitive projects in arapidly-changing environment

  • Strong relationship management and communication skills including the ability to engage with a variety of internal and external partners and collaborators

  • A demonstrated interestin the intersection of business and social/environmentalissues

An ideal candidate will possess one or more of the following:

  • Familiarity with digital tools (such as Constant Contact, Wordpress, Squarespace, CRMs,Google Suite, SurveyMonkey, Wufoo, Eventbrite, Concur, etc.)

  • Design acumendemonstrated ability indesigning layouts for reports, presentations and web pages

  • Experience in business development or fundraising

  • Superb writing skills
