Development Program Manager

Saving Promise, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the prevalence of domestic violence in America, is seeking a Development Program Manager to become a pivotal member of our leadership team.

Inspired by one woman’s courage and commitment, Saving Promise was founded on the belief that we must break the silence that jeopardizes the health and well-being of one in three women and one in three men by mobilizing a movement focused on domestic violence prevention. And because no one individual, community, or organization can solve this public health crisis on its own, Saving Promise aims to lead the way in building bridges across sectors to identify and scale proven prevention strategies.

What will you be doing?

Overall:

  • Undertake special projects as needed, including coordinating and facilitating special events, fundraising events, and other activities.
  • Prepare well-structured, clear, and concise documents, such as responses to emails, correspondence and inquiries, superior proposals and presentations, reports, and correspondence.
  • Support Executive Board outreach, communication, updates, and meeting planning.
  • Help develop and scale programs that will accelerate our mission-driven strategies.

Funding Cultivation:

  • Serve as the liaison and help cultivate prospective partners, collaborators, investors, and funders.
  • Schedule presentations and assist in the preparation of pitch materials for prospective partners and funders.
  • Work with the leadership team to launch a revenue-generating program for a groundbreaking, pioneering program that will target healthcare providers, workplaces, youth organizations, and grassroots communities. 
  • Forge new relationships to enhance the organization’s vision, impact, and financial resources.
  • Write, submit, and track letter of inquiries, grants, and proposals to funding sources.

Communication and Marketing:

  • Help launch a national public awareness campaign.
  • Support the development and execution of a communications plan to enhance the campaign’s visibility and impact.
  • Serve as the liaison to external stakeholders and funding partners, and effectively communicate and present the organizational mission, vision, and program development efforts.
  • Coordinate events, social media, and other activities with partners.

What qualifications are we looking for?

General:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ relevant experience.
  • Commitment to results and a “can-do” mindset with an emphasis on fundraising accountability.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, self-directed, and action-oriented.

Professional:

  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills, including multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hardworking and flexible with proven interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort with taking direction and asking for help.

Communication:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Proven talent to write succinctly and with style.

This position is ideal for an individual interested in taking a leading role in a progressive national organization devoted to igniting major social change. The ideal candidate will be willing to initially work part-time (upward of 35 hours per week) to support a dynamic start-up infrastructure poised for major growth. Upon successfully launching key development initiatives, the position will develop into a full–time position.

While a shared workspace is provided in Washington, D.C., the candidate will also be able to telecommute with flexible work hours. Only candidates in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will be considered.
