JOB SUMMARY:

The Annual Giving Manager is a key member of the individual giving team. This person is responsible for planning and implementing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta individual donors to the annual giving program, specifically for gifts under $1,000. Works with direct mail vendor and creates email solicitations and other donor acquisition strategies. This position will be responsible for strategically growing the base of new, entry-level supporters to the organization’s annual giving program and working with the Director, Individual Giving to identify supporters with the potential of increasing their gift.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Plan and execute steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for gifts up to $1,000 from individuals giving non-designated gifts to the annual fund.
  • Manage Club Blue Monthly Giving program, a strategy to engage Club volunteers in supporting the annual campaign.
  • Work with Direct Mail vendor to design a comprehensive direct mail program and online giving strategies and analyze Direct Mail/e-mail solicitation program results data to refine and increase ROI
  • Work with Senior Director, Individual Giving to establish revenue goals for fiscal year
  • Collaborate with both the Senior Director, Individual Giving, to establish benchmarks and regular reporting processes to measure results of all annual fund activities
  • Oversee the logistics of all events related to donor affinity group events (i.e. Champions Club for GIRLS)
  • Work closely with marketing staff to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications
  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects through the approach of strategy execution and analyses
  • Work effectively with Senior Director of Individual Giving to identify new donors and build strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to give at higher levels
  • Provide support to the entire Resource Development team to ensure quality donor stewardship
  • Manage vendor relationships with direct mail companies
  • Coordinate stewardship activities related to annual fund donors
  • Executing donor acquisition strategies
  • Write and update acknowledgement letter templates
  • Other related duties as assigned by Senior Director, Individual Giving

 

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

  • 2-4 years of fundraising experience and proven track record for securing gifts

Skills

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful annual fundraising strategies
  • Demonstrated success in further developing and maintaining new fundraising programs
  • Ability to gather and analyze data
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gift processing and acknowledgement practices
  • Well versed in direct mail and e-mail solicitation best practices and implementation
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor database
  • Excellent organizational, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Must be strategic and forward thinking
  • Ability to work easily with volunteer leadership and all club constituencies
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously is a must
  • Goal-oriented with ability to work independently, meet deadlines and proven track record for securing gifts
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to collect, organize and  analyze data related to donor giving

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal internal office environment. Able to travel throughout the Metro Atlanta area to attend donor meetings and events; some evenings and weekends required. Occasional need to travel to club locations within the Metro Atlanta area.  Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required.
