Job Details
BACKGROUND
The Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law Inc.’s Homeless Youth Project (HYP) provides shelter and supportive services to homeless youth under 18. The project specifically targets inner-city minority youth, including unaccompanied immigrants and refugees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Routinely monitor the CL facility to ensure that it's policies and operations comply with State requirements
- Preparing a weekly report regarding compliance and recommending action in areas in which monitoring indicates the program is not in compliance with State requirements
- Assist with supervision of residents at the Casa Libre shelter
- Resolving conflicts among youth as needed
- Providing the youth with a positive role model by acting responsibly and thoughtfully
- Working on and engaging youth about their future goals and aspirations
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Group Home Administrator Certificate issued by the California Department of Social Services or willingness and eligibility to apply for one (must
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED
- Experience working with homeless, at risk, and/or abused youth
- Sensitivity to issues concerning the homeless population
- CPR and emergency first aid certification (or able to obtain)
- Valid CA driver’s license
- Associates Degree or high school diploma
- Must pass a police background check
