SHALLOWFORD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Position: Administrative Assistant to Education & Program Ministries
This Administrative Assistant to Education & Program Ministries will support the children, youth and adult education and program ministries of Shallowford Presbyterian Church. The position will be a 20 hour per week part-time position.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintain records of attendance, payment and child protection policy enrollment
• Create, monitor, and coordinate online registrations for church events
• Work with families to provide and collect paperwork for various activities
• Manage and coordinate volunteers including online sign-ups and reminder emails
• Perform a variety of office functions, including processing financial reimbursements and remittances; preparing monthly expense reports, creating name tags and signage, and monitoring and ordering supplies
•Coordinate menus, reservations, and volunteers for Wednesday evening supper
• Schedule, oversee payroll, and ensure supplies for nursery caregivers
• Order, print, organize and deliver curriculum for various educational programs
• Complete other administrative and support tasks as may be assigned by the Associate Pastor for Mission & Discipleship, the Associate Pastor for Youth & Programs, and the Director of Children’s Ministries Desired
Skills & Qualifications:
• Excellent project management and event coordination abilities
• Detail oriented, organized, able to prioritize assignments from various staff, able to multi-task and meet deadlines • Professional oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic, flexible, dependable, and can-do attitude
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Comfortable with a variety of computer programs and online organizing tools, and capacity to learn new software quickly
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive pastoral and financial information
• Able to establish effective, friendly working relationships Position Details:
• Reports to Associate Pastor for Mission & Discipleship
• Supports the Associate Pastor for Mission & Discipleship, the Associate Pastor for Youth & Programs, and the Director of Children’s Ministries
• Hourly Position: 20 hours per week. Some hours must be on Thursday.
