The Center for Children & Young Adults (CCYA) located in Marietta, Georgia has a three building campus housing homeless youth and young adults between the ages of 13 and 21 who have been abandoned, neglected, and/or abused, and an additional office complex also located in Marietta.
Position Description: The Facilities Manager directly reports to the Chief Operating Officer, servicing CCYA properties and programs, ensuring the work facilities of the Center are secure, well-maintained and functioning well. This position also makes sure that the needs of the employer and the employees are met. Some of the daily job duties of a facilities manager may include delving into project management, supervising the work of contractors, and research to adequately compare costs of goods and services for bidding purposes. The Facilities Manager must be able juggle multiple projects and help employees with issues that may come up on a day-to-day basis. Emphasis is placed on code compliance, safety procedures, cost-effective inventory control and establishing a preventative maintenance schedule. The Facilities Manager also serves in an “on-call” capacity.
Job Characteristics and Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in trade work such as general facilities maintenance, electricity, plumbing, heating/ventilation/air conditioning, refrigeration, drywall, and/or locksmith
- Experienced and comfortable at data entry for tracking service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance, inventory control and budgeting
- Knowledge of safety procedures with a safety conscious attitude, record of punctuality and dependability, ability to work with pressure of deadlines, and flexible schedule to accommodate after hour and weekend emergencies
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be customer service oriented
- Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards
- Ability to manage casual labor
- Ability to use common tools
- Ability to understand and follow directions as given
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable, personal transportation with valid GA Driver’s License
- Ability to work in the US
