Since 1986, Easterseals (ESWG) has provided therapeutic services to individuals with disabilities of all ages in the Chattahoochee Valley. ESWG’s services include child care, afterschool care, adult day services, family support services and employment services.

Our programs assist people to gain or strengthen their abilities, access greater independence and a life well lived. ESWG is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and is a provider with Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities under the Home and Community Based Medicaid Waivers. ESWG is the only program providing a full continuum of services for people of all ages and disabilities.

Our staff are dedicated professionals who possess an inherent passion to serve and work with people with disabilities. ESWG is seeking such a qualified manager to lead our Employment Services Program. 

General Job Description:

The Employment Services Program provides supported and customized employment, job coaching, job readiness training and work evaluation services for people with disabilities. 

The Employment Services Program provides job seekers the appropriate, ongoing support that is necessary for success in a competitive work environment. Employment service activities include the following:

  • Assessments to determine abilities, skills and strengths.
  • Exploration of careers interests.
  • Job development to identify an ideal work setting.
  • One-on-one job coaching at the work site to support individuals as they gain the skills needed to be successful.
  • Ongoing support to foster strong relationships between employer and employee.
  • Working with individuals and employers to ensure job retention and to ensure on-going success at the work site.

Key Responsibilities of the Employment Services Manager:

Directs, supervises and ensures the formulation and delivery of employment services provided to job seekers.  

  • Monitors the progress toward achievement of goals in the Individual Employment Plan and makes modifications to the plan, as appropriate.
  • Ensures the implementation of strategies to ensure employment and retention of employment.
  • Works to increase employment opportunities through networking with potential business sites.
  • Develops and maintains a job coach schedule for staff in alignment with the individual’s employment schedule.
  • Supervises and provides direction and guidance to job coaches. 
  • Conducts and maintains ongoing training program and ensures that continuing education requirements are met for all staff annually. 
  • Conducts review of progress notes, documentation, goals and objectives.
  • Maintains a positive and collaborative relationship with all stakeholders and businesses within the community.
  • Raises awareness of employment services program within the community.
  • In the absence of a job coach, fills in to ensure consistent staffing and support is maintained.
  • Works with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely billing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the human services or a related field and two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities. 
  • Experience helping people with disabilities gain employment preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Possess computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word and other systems related to the program.
  • Possess working knowledge of community resources.
