Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Annual Giving is a member of the School’s management and front-line fundraising team.  In this capacity, you will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and acknowledgement and stewardship of annual fund- and leadership-level gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the UCLA School of Law. As Director, you will have bottom-line responsibility for the UCLA Law Annual Fund, manage a portfolio of donors, be involved in overall philanthropy to the School as well as contribute to the development of the major gift pipeline through consistent donor and prospects visits, increasing engagement and probability that UCLA Law becomes a funding priority for alumni, parents and friends. As a member of the School’s development and management tea, you will lead and oversee the Annual Giving team and be responsible for setting annual fund goals and benchmarks, including strategy, planning and communications in addition to leading the team in managing all annual and leadership gift initiatives and events.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will have three or more years of experience in a fundraising environment with an emphasis on annual giving and/or prior experience in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development.  You will have an understanding of the principles and practices of development with an emphasis on annual giving techniques.  The Director will have experience with supervision and the ability to motivate and guide staff, have superb interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator with strong verbal and skills to creatively and persuasively express the fundraising goals, initiatives and programs of the Law School.  Among other qualifications, you will have strong analytical and organizational skills, take initiative, and enjoy meeting and exceeding goals in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
