Associate Director of Sustained Giving

A newly created position for Shepherd Center Foundation, the Associate Director of Sustained Giving is responsible for increasing annual donor engagement and philanthropic support through direct mail, multi-channel marketing campaigns, web-based communications, engagement events, and volunteer groups. The Associate Director supervises the Sustained Giving team which coordinates annual giving social media efforts, plans and manages signature fundraising and third-party events, annual corporate and individual giving and project support.

The Associate Director leads a team of four direct reports—the Annual Giving Officer, two Special Events Managers, and a Donor and Community Relations Manager (who in turn, manages the Pecans on Peachtree Online and Retail Sales Manager).  The Associate Director is responsible for gift renewal, moves management, and portfolio management of individual annual donors in the $5,000 - $10,000 range and corporate annual donors less than $25,000.  The Associate Director reports to the Director of Development Operations and interacts with board members, senior executives, medical staff community leaders and volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•           Bachelor’s degree from a four-year, accredited college. 

•           Three years or more prior experience in fundraising and working with volunteers. Special events planning, direct mail, and corporate and individual gift solicitation experience preferred. 

•           Familiarity with Atlanta community leaders is preferred.

SKILLS AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

•           Annual giving and/or alumni relations experience highly preferred.

•           Demonstrate strategic thinking and be well organized and goal-oriented.

•           Superior writing, editing, communication, and interpersonal networking skills.

•           Proven staff or volunteer leadership experience and skills.

•           Raiser’s Edge software experience preferred.

•           Demonstrate an understanding of brand marketing, advertising and public relations.

•           Ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team.

•           Must have the skills and desire to: multi-task and meet deadlines; be a team player, work collaboratively; participate in evening and weekend work, as necessary.
